This involves executing complex work-based duties, and acquiring a good knowledge and understanding of a subject. These are done in a variety of contexts – involving a combination of personal responsibility and teamwork
At this level, the tasks and complexity increase. Autonomy and responsibility are also more extensive which may require some supervision and direction.
This level provides a specialist and demonstrated level of learning, usually surrounding a specific area of work. This level is ideal for those looking to manage others or work in technical roles.
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are based on national occupational standards. These standards are statements of performance that describe what competent people in a particular occupation are expected to be able to do. They cover all the main aspects of an occupation, including current best practice, the ability to adapt to future requirements and the knowledge and understanding that underpin competent performance.
This is the stage where the candidate learns about an area of work on a deeper level, allowing him/her to understand and respond to complex situations whilst gaining a high level of expertise. Also covers senior management and the training of others.
This level is is intended for senior managers, the level 7 NVQs is equivalent to a master’s degree, and it shows that the candidate is an expert in your field.
